Scope of use:
  • Internal gypsum ceiling for dry areas that do not require special fire resistance (living room, dining room, bed room, work room, recreation room, etc.), suitable for all types of buildings (houses, hotels, restaurants, offices, shops, supermarkets, shopping centers, schools, hospitals, factories, warehouses, etc.).

System configuration:

  • Ceiling frame is made of high quality galvanized or aluminium/zinc coated cold rolled steel in combination with pre-painted (in White colour in most cases) steel components: Main Tees 3660mm, Cross Tees 610mm, Cross Tees 1220mm, Wall Angles 3050mm or 3660mm. Main Tees 3660mm are suspended from upper concrete slab or steel/timber joists via suspension bracket + suspension rod + adjustable suspension clip with suspension points spaced at 1200mm centers. Cross Tees are inter-connected with Main Tees to form grid of pattern 610mm x 1220mm (rectangular) or 610mm x 610mm (square).
  • In general, Cross Tees 610mm / 1220mm are far inferior to Main Tees 3660mm in terms of bending strength.
  • Depending on the base steel thickness and height of Cross Tees, install the ceiling grid as follows:
    *   If Cross Tees 610mm / 1220mm has a 0.30mm base steel thickness and 38mm height (i.e. Cross Tees are as strong as Main Tees): Main Tees 3660mm are spaced at 1220mm centers, Cross Tees 1220mm are then interlocked in perpendicular with Main Tees with spacing at 610mm centers, forming a rectangular pattern 610mm x 1220mm; or further install Cross Tees 610mm in right angle with Cross Tees 1220mm, forming a square pattern 610mm x 610mm
    *   If Cross Tees 610mm / 1220mm has a 0.30mm base steel thickness and 26mm height: Main Tees 3660mm are spaced at 610mm centers, Cross Tees 610mm are then interlocked in perpendicular with Main Tees with spacing at 1220mm centers, forming a rectangular pattern 610mm x 1220mm;  or install Cross Tees 610mm with spacing at 610mm centers, forming a square pattern 610mm x 610mm
    *   In all cases, Main Tees 3660mm should be the main components that carry the weight of gypsum ceiling panels.
  • Drop 1 layer of pre-painted or vinyl laminated Standard gypsum ceiling panel 12mm / 12.7mm x 610mm x 1220mm or 12mm / 12.7mm x 610mm x 610mm into the ceiling grid.
  • If improved thermal and sound insulation is required, 1 layer of glasswool 50mm thick 12kg/m3 will be fit snugly on top of the back of gypsum ceiling panels.

Assurance:

  • Installed systems are assured to be free of any defects related to warping - sagging - cracking of gypsum ceiling panels during 5 years when utilised strictly under thorough guides provided by Tong Hy Co., Ltd.
  • Service life of internal exposed grid gypsum ceiling is over 50 years.
